JASON GRAVES SCORES 'CITY OF HEROES GOING ROGUE'

Raleigh, NC - May 26th, 2010 - Award-winning composer Jason Graves has created a thematic orchestral score for City of Heroes Going Rogue™, the new expansion to the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) City of Heroes® based on the superheroic comic book genre. Classically trained and renowned for his sophisticated orchestral music, Graves composed memorable superheroic themes to immerse players in the alternative world known as Praetoria. The score reflects the game's new alignment system allowing players' characters to shift allegiances between Heroes and Villains. Developed by Paragon Studios and published by NCsoft, City of Heroes Going Rogue™ will be released exclusively for the PC in July 2010.

"With very little direction, Jason was able to anticipate the needs of our project and deliver a score which far exceeded our expectations," said Adam Kay, Audio Director at Paragon Studios. "Jason provided a soundtrack which feels contemporary while still being firmly rooted in the tradition of action film music. Juxtaposing themes provide contrast and variation capable of underscoring far more than the sum of total minutes delivered. Mostly, though, it just kicks ass!"

ROLFE KENT SCORES 'KILLERS'

Lionsgate is releasing the Killers -- Original Soundtrack, available digitally on June 1, 2010. A comedic action-packed blockbuster directed by Robert Luketic (Legally Blonde, The Ugly Truth), Killers will hit theaters everywhere on June 4. The soundtrack features eight feel good hits, including “Beauty In The World” from Grammy Award® winner Macy Gray, and a whimsical original score by Rolfe Kent (Up in The Air, Sideways).

MILAN TO RELEASE RAPHAEL BEAU SCORE FOR 'MICMACS'

On May 25, Milan will be releasing the soundtrack album to Micmacs, Jean-Pierre Jeunet's new film. As with all of Jeunet’s earlier works (Amelie, City of Lost Children, Delicatessen), Micmacs’ music establishes the cinematic universe in which the events are to unfold. The original score is by up-and-coming composer Raphael Beau. The film will be released in theaters by Sony Pictures Classics on May 28.

GHENT FILM FESTIVAL CELEBRATES 10th ANNIVERSARY WORLD SOUNDTRACK AWARDS

The World Soundtrack Awards, an awards presentation honoring the best in film music established by the Ghent International Film Festival’s World Soundtrack Academy in 2001, has announced an all star line up to usher in its 10th year. Ten world class composers will be appearing live in concert at the awards presentation in Ghent, Belgium on October 23rd. Those confirmed include Oscar winners Howard Shore (Lord Of The Rings), Elliot Goldenthal (Frida), Gabriel Yared (The English Patient), Gustavo Santaolalla (Motorcycle Diaries), Stephen Warbeck (Shakespeare In Love) as well as Angelo Badalamenti (Twin Peaks), Craig Armstrong (Love Actually), Alberto Iglesias (Todo Sobre Mi Madre), Bruno Coulais (Océans), Frédéric Devreese (Un Soir, Un Train) and brilliant young composer Nico Muhly (The Reader)

Known as the world’s premiere festival for celebrating and honoring film music the Ghent International Film Festival, which is celebrating its 37th year, formed the World Soundtrack Academy to honor composers in six different categories including Film Composer of the Year, Best Original Film Score of the Year, Best Original Song Written Directly for a Film, Discovery of the Year, and their Lifetime Achievement Award. The World Soundtrack Awards 10th anniversary gala will include a six minute suite from each composer performed by the Brussels Philharmonic – the Orchestra of Flanders, conducted by Dirk Brossé, and accompanied by a selection of illustrative film excerpts.

AARON ZIGMAN SCORES 'SEX AND THE CITY2'

(Los Angeles, CA) Award-winning composer Aaron Zigman reunites with Michael Patrick King to score the sequel “Sex and the City 2.” The film stars the original cast from the beloved TV series including Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, Chris Noth and John Corbett. “Sex and the City 2” opens in theaters on May 27. WaterTower Music will be releasing the soundtrack, including “Divas and Dunes” by Zigman. Zigman who received critical acclaim for his work on the romantic New Line film, “The Notebook,” was an obvious choice to set the tone for the romantic rendezvous of the “Sex and the City” cast on the big screen.

For “Sex and the City 2,” Zigman delivers a score that ranges from contemporary orchestral to romantic classical, as well as Middle Eastern motifs with haunting, lilting rhythms to convey the geographical diversity represented in the film.
